spring fever

Due to the fact that my affinity for spring weather is growing, I decided to create a board full of spring fashion. Hope you all enjoy and I hope you all have an amazing week.




One of my necessities for my beauty regime is mascara. I feel complete and put together when I have it on. (Although I will leave the house without it.) I feel that drawing attention to your eyes is one of the best things a woman can do. If I could only choose one beauty product for life, it would be mascara! 
Above are some of the best (in my opinion) mascaras on the market.

Benefit They're Real | One of the best mascaras out there. Makes your lashes look fuller, longer, and separates them for an all round amazing look.

Lancome Hypnose Mascara | I love this mascara! It makes my lashes look so long! While it doesn't make them super full, if you are looking for a lengthening mascara this is the way to go!

Maybelline Falsies | The Maybelline Falsies mascara is probably the best drugstore mascara that I have ever used. This mascara lengthens and volumizes (not even a word haha) your lashes at a fraction of the cost of a high end mascara. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, this is the mascara for you!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara | This mascara will barely cost you anything. It ranges from $5-$6 and is perfect for the budget-friendly girl. It lengthens lashes fairly well and is a overall a good mascara for the price.

I simply cannot wait until spring!!! It is my favorite season and I love the fresh smell in the air as well as the spring flowers blooming! This inspiration board encompasses everything that I love about spring. The colors, the flowers and the fashion. I will be so glad when I will be able to bare my legs outside. Until then, I will just have to create inspiration boards to keep myself occupied.

Comfy Cozy

When it comes to winter fashion I love to wear maxi skirts. Generally when I think of a maxi skirt, I think of summer. While I love wearing them in the summer, I also enjoy wearing them in the winter. All of the fabric covers your legs, they are super comfortable and can look chic.
I love to pair fabulous sweat-shirts with my maxi-skirt for the easy and comfortable look.

 I do not understand the weather! It is cold and then it is in the seventies! I wish that it would make up its mind! However, I can't complain because this winter has been pretty mild for me!
When it comes to the cold weather, there is nothing I love better than wearing a big comfy scarf. It makes the whole word seen better! When my outfit is this simple, I prefer to spice it up with a pop of color on my lips! Adding a little color to your face never hurt anyone!

Fashion and Lifestyle Picks

These are some of the staples that I am going to wearing or using this year.

simple grey top - I love the color grey! It is my favorite color and I love simple blouses for everyday wear. You can make them look really chic while staying really simple. Minimalistic is best in my book!

 gel eyeliner- Gel or liquid liners are my favorite. They go on really smooth and last all day! This one by Bobbi Brown is amazing!

 chic notebooks- I am OBSESSED with notebooks/journals/planners so much. It is pretty ridiculous. I love collecting and using them. Some of my favorite ones are by Moleskine, which you can get at Target, Barnes and Noble as well as online at moleskine.com.

leather tote- I prefer simple leather totes to carry around my necessities throughout the day.

simple necklaces- A simple necklace or ring is pretty much the only jewelry that I will wear throughout the day. I don't like wearing a loads of jewelry because it irritates my skin, but simple pieces make an outfit.

Emerald City


I decided to jump on the bandwagon and start doing Friday's Fancies and I am already enjoying it so much! It will definitely become a Friday tradition here on the blog.
Here is my board of the week. I really love these colors together. The polka-dots are so me and the lilac bag acts as the perfect complement to the green skirt. I would definitely be seen wearing this outfit around town.

I hope that you all are having an amazing week. You might have noticed that the blog received a makeover. I figured that since the new year began that the blog should get a fresh start as well. Be prepared for a longer post.

This year I unintentionally added health and fitness onto my "list of resolutions''. I have always had my own fitness and health goals, but I was never someone who put that on their resolutions list. However, I am now enthralled with my health and fitness routine. Normally, I have to get into a "healthy mode" before I actually see results, otherwise I might binge a couple of times a week.
I am determined not to make this just a phase, but rather a lifestyle. I think that it is important for people to take care of their bodies. Although I am not overweight, I feel as though I could still treat my body better. It does make it a little easier because most of my best friends are super healthy. This year I promise to make my body as healthy as possible....not anorexic or obese!

Let me just say that I am by no means a fitness expert or nutritionist, these are just things that I have studied about in my effort to become healthier. I will do another post  on more food options.


lean healthy meats | If like myself you are a meat-eater, there are great healthy options out there for your enjoyment. Salmon, lean turkey, chicken and other sorts of fish (I personally like tuna fish). You can eat these food items as long as you do it in proportion.

fruits and vegetables | This is a gimme! Eating fruits and vegetables is about one of the healthiest things you can do for your body. Fruits that contain a high water content are especially good for your body.

snacks | Yogurt with a little bit of granola and flaxseed is a great option for an afternoon snack. Even a simple snack of nuts and a little fruit is a great way to tide you over to your next meal.

New Year's Resolutions!
I don't know about you, but every year I try to write my New Year resolutions and never do. I always start with the best intentions, but never go through with it. I keep "resolutions" in my head but never write them down.
This year I strived to be different. However, instead of writing my own I decided to follow Matchbook Magazine's resolutions for the matchbook world. I feel that they embody everything that I want to accomplish in 2013.
